Branding & One-Page Author Website
Catharine Fitton is a thriller author whose debut novel, Her Dead Boyfriend, hit the shelves in Spring 2024. With a gripping storyline and page-turning suspense, Catharine is set to make a splash in the thriller genre.
She didn't have an online presence before we started, so we worked together from the ground up to create a website that reflects her brand and prepares her for launch.
Building the Brand
Since Catharine was starting fresh, we kicked things off with a mini branding session to build her foundation. We created a custom wordmark logo, a color palette, and complementary font pairings that reflect the suspenseful bold dramatic elegance of her work while keeping everything clean and sophisticated.
We intentionally kept the design simple and understated so her book cover could be the visual star. This also gives her branding the flexibility to expand as she releases future titles.
Designing the Website
For Catharine's online debut, we built a one-page microsite that gives her a strong digital foundation without overwhelming her audience. The streamlined design includes a main landing page with essential sections, plus a few single-section content pages that keep navigation simple and efficient.
Starting with a microsite let Catharine keep her budget in check while still having a polished online presence that's easy to expand as her career grows. The main landing page introduces her and spotlights Her Dead Boyfriend, while the additional content pages give her room to add book details, upcoming events, or press features down the line.
The result is a suspenseful, elegant website that's built to grow with her writing career.
From start to finish, the whole project took just a few weeks.
